Speaking

From New York to Paris, London to Singapore and Madrid to Harare, Mark delivers inspiring and engaging lectures with honesty, humility and passion.

Having spent more than 40 years traversing some of the most hostile environments on Earth, Mark proves that it is possible for ordinary people to achieve the extraordinary. Meticulous planning, overcoming fears, and finding motivation even at the most seemingly hopeless and frustrating of moments are among the ingredients that have repeatedly led him to success.
Whilst his achievements prove that individuals have the power to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals through perseverance and commitment, they also highlight the fact that great things are rarely achieved by individuals in isolation. More often, success comes through building successful teams; this direct experience, coupled with Marks work developing leaders and building teams for the corporate and government sectors in the Middle East, enables him to bring thought provoking and engaging lessons from the bush to the boardroom, tailored entirely to client objectives, and desired outcomes.

A masterclass in public speaking
An evening we will all treasure for many years-the audience was captivated
I was privileged to be in the audience at the RGS last Thursday – thank you for a marvellous and fascinating talk!
What a superb talk! One of the best this season - superbly relaxed delivery, informative, knowledgeable, entertaining, geographical. historical, cultural, scientific - everything a geographical talk should be. Raised my spirits no end! And brief chats this evening with members I know confirmed my opinion.
Your evening at the RGS last week must rate in the top ten special events at the Society in my 40 years there. A perfect delivery, full of geographical facts, humour, maps and a history that few of those-present knew.
Mark Evans gave about the most moving and inspirational lecture ever last night to a packed Royal Geographical Society in front of the Duke of Kent; there were queues in both directions around the building. I haven’t seen that at the RGS since the great explorers spoke in my youth.
Your RGS talk on crossing the Empty Quarter was absolutely riveting
A triumph – last night was memorable.
A note to say I really enjoyed last night and felt the whole audience around you to be very inspired.
I wanted to say what a marvelous evening/lecture that was. Thoroughly entertaining and informative and many congratulations on packing the house out!
In a word, your lecture was a ‘tour-de-force’: modest, fluent, instructive & inspirational. And that’s only one half of it…!
It was a pleasure to hear you speak at the RGS last night. Quite the most fluent and engaging speaker ever.
Let me complement you on a very compelling presentation, you are amazingly good on stage!
